Meet Tiambi Sol
What’s up y’all. My pen name is Tiambi Sol. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. It started at 9 years old, my love for movies, and wondering how they were able to make the movies. I knew I always wanted to be apart of the filming process, but for some reason I wanted to be behind the scenes. I just didn’t know what I wanted to do behind the scenes. Until around 10 or 11 years old, I woke up one day and just started writing. Nothing prompted me to do it, I just did it. I stopped writing the same day I started, but it didn’t end there.
At 13 years old is when I decided I wanted to take writing seriously. I just finished reading Thug-a-licious by Noire, and as soon as I closed the book, I said to myself, “I want to write”. I found a pen and some paper, and I did write that day. I’ve been writing ever since. I can’t tell you why writers write, all I can tell you is why I write. It’s because I need to, it’s because it helps me make sense of things around me. Writing gives me an outlet that I probably would never have had. Though, I’m sure I would have found something else, but writing called me and I answered, and I’ve been answering ever since.
My work approaches difficult experiences with care, compassion, and honesty. I’ve recently been exploring with different genres that I’ve normally stood clear of. After so many years, I’m ready to try my hand a few different things now.
